Stonemill Kitchens are a valued customer of The Digital Moose. They had their website designed & hosted by TDM a couple of years ago and have already started to outgrow the original build!
So, already having the site hosted here made everything super easy to update. Nikita came to me with some ideas of a slightly new layout and how to get all their new projects displayed – and of course it had to be really quick and easy for her to do herself.
Leaving the existing site untouched during the re-design
First job was to set up a 'staging' site - cloning the existing site onto a subdomain. This meant myself and Nikita from Stonemill could work on the design and content whilst leaving their actual website up & running.
I took the original layout and gave it a good makeover, updated colour schemes and even some custom icons. New and plentiful content made it easy to design. A new news & blogs area was added, with custom template layouts for posts and portfolio items too.
Once we were both happy, all that was left to do was to clone the staging site to the live site and hey presto! A new design for an existing website.
