The Courtyard Clinic, Maldon are an established, well respected Osteopathy clinic.

Their website needed updating, as the last iteration was made a good few years back – before responsive web design was essential.

We re-designed the whole thing from scratch and built on WordPress, also re-assessing the page content & URL structure for SEO.

Websites for Osteopaths

As it was mainly information based, this one was fairly straight forward. Almost all the content was taken from the existing website, and the main challenge was making sure it was responsive to all devices.

The exercise page for instance, is a helpful page that shows many simple exercises you can do at home. With around 20 different activities, some including up to 4 images, we had to make sure the layout was clear and easy to read across all devices.

Menus, Navigation & URL Structure

The other thing that needed tidying up was the navigation and URL structure. Some of the old website URLs weren't very SEO friendly. The page detailing Sports Injuries, for example had the URL /sports.html.

With a bit of assessment, we refined the content into the correct areas and changed the URL structure so it was much clearer. Sports Injuries now has the URL /sports-injuries ! Much better.

To make sure there was no 401 Errors from old URLs displaying in search engines, we made sure to re-direct any page changes to the new urls and submit the new sitemaps to Google.

Content - Basic SEO

Whilst porting over the content from the old site, we also made sure that it had good, basic SEO practices in place.

Ensuring all H1 title tags included the actual title of the page for example, whilst also making sure they are 1st on the page - AND relevant to the page content!
