I love biscuits me. Can smash a whole pack with a cuppa if I’m in the mood. Actually, I don’t even have to have a hankering for them. I can just go for a biscuit (or seven…teen) anytime of day or night.
SO, here’s my top 5:
- Bourbon
- Custard Cream
- Chocolate Digestive
- Ginger Nut
- Rich Tea Finger
BOSH. There we go. Here’s why.

1) Bourbon
Chocolatey. Some kind of creamy delight in the middle. Get it in one hit or bite off the sides and scrape off the inside. Either way...delish. My champion, go to, winner, god of the biscuits. Was a tough choice between these and Custard Creams, but the Bourbon just pipped top spot.
2) Custard Cream
A staple in the british afternoon tea scene. Who doesn’t like a Custard Cream. Deceptively named - never thought they resembled custard in any way. Almost gave them joint 1st place, but had to pick a winner. Similar to the Bourbon, can be eaten in many ways. How do you eat yours?
3) Chocolate Digestive
Digestives. A key to all cheesecakey type desert bases. As a biscuit, plump for the chocolate variety and you’ve got yourself a moreish treat. Milk chocolate digestives, just to be clear. Dark versions are nice, but never make the top 5.
4) Ginger Nut
A controversial choice perhaps. The gingers always get undue stick, but I can’t get enough. Easy as a treat or a “savoury†snack… sort of. Not really. But I can nosh a pack of ginger nuts as easy as a bag of salt n vinegar crisps.
5) Rich Tea Finger
Plain old rich tea finger. A classic. Boring? Maybe. But great dunked in tea. And I’m not usually a dunker. Give me a rich tea finger though and I’ll dunk as good as anyone out there, I’ll show ya.
So there we have it. Biscuits. Now you know the way to make me happy, bring me some. And let me know your top 5!
